Les ultrasons sont utilisés pour le contrôle non destructif des pièces industrielles.
Ils peuvent permettre de mesurer l'épaisseur de la pièce analysée mais également de mettre en évidence des
défauts comme le montre le schéma ci-dessous.
Données:
- - \(E_{P}\) est l’épaisseur de la pièce.
- - \(D\) est la distance entre la sonde à ultrasons et le défaut de la pièce.
- - \(t_{E}\) est la durée entre l'émission et la réception des ultrasons après un aller-retour sur toute
l'épaisseur de la pièce.
- - \(t_{D}\) est la durée entre l'émission et la réception des ultrasons après un aller-retour jusqu'au
défaut.
- - La vitesse de propagation des ultrasons dans la pièce métallique est de \(v= 5000 m/s\).
